Ramblings

As you can tell, I'm really tearing this blog thing up. I don't know if it's because I really don't have that much to say or if I'm just incredibly lazy. Maybe it's both. But just to make myself feel better, I'll just say that I haven't been hit with an inspiration to do it. Yeah, that sounds much better than "lazy".

I watched the MLB All-Star Game last night. I try to keep up with baseball, but I have to honestly say, I've never heard of some of those guys. I thought it was the "all star" game. The game itself was boring up until the last couple of innings, and being the die-hard Cardinals fan I am, I was very pleased that the National League pulled out a win. Note to MLB...next year, try to stay away from the nearly hour-long pre-game ceremonial stuff; the game started way too late for me.

I'm considering buying a French press to experiment with. I'm a coffee lover and have heard that a French press makes the best coffee. So, I'm gonna give it a try. I'm gonna start out cheap. I don't want to drop a lot of money on something that I possibly may not really like, or have time for. I wake WAY early in the mornings and don't have a lot of time to devote to making coffee. Plus, I usually leave what's left in the pot for my wife who wakes up 3 hours after I do. Can't leave coffee sitting in a French press for that long unless you want it to walk to you when you call it. Anyway, I'm gonna give it a try this weekend when I have time to experiment with it. I'll keep you updated. And, as you can tell by the frequency of my blog posts, that'll be sometime next month or next year.

Do you ever feel that maybe you've made a wrong career turn somewhere? I do. More on that later when I feel more comfortable discussing it here.

Getting Started

It's always kinda weird getting started with these things. I've tried having blogs in the past, only to delete them because I felt like they were stupid or I just didn't have the time to commit to truly making it, well, not stupid.

So here I am, once again, giving this thing a whirl.

I'm hoping to accomplish a couple of things with this blog. One, of course, is to just have fun with it. The other, is to somehow jump start some kind of career with it. I've been in the media, primarily radio, for the past 21 years. I started in high school, and didn't go to college because I assumed I could learn all I needed just working full-time and learning on-the-job. I did, but I also missed out on learning valuable stuff. See, had I gone to college, I would know an actual term to call "stuff".

I'm a fan of entertainment and sports, so primarily this blog will be a reflection of that. There will be, from time to time, the occasional "thoughts on life" kind of blog, but those will be few and far between.

So, I hope I can accomplish my two goals here, but if it's only just the first one (ya know, for fun) then I'm cool with that. But if you're someone looking to hire someone with a pretty darn good sense of humor who's into entertainment and sports and occasionally "thoughts on life", then I'm your guy.

So, there ya go. Now...let's get started.
